The training started with a detailed explanation of the Ovi-Scan 6, an innovative ultrasound device from IMV Technologies specially designed for scanning sheep. After a detailed explanation of the device's operation and functionalities, it was time to install your own equipment and get hands-on.

Learning by doing

The hands-on approach was key during the training. 'From applying the scan gel to correctly positioning the probe and interpreting scan images - we did it all ourselves,' Linda told us. 'Thanks to regular demonstrations and personal guidance, we became increasingly proficient in using the Ovi-Scan 6. It was great to get immediate feedback and tips from the experts.' Scanning sheep, including counting lambs, is an art you learn mainly through experience.

During the breaks, all participants enjoyed delicious Scottish delicacies. 'Meanwhile, we took time to exchange experiences, discuss our progress and share new insights. These moments were just as valuable as the practice itself, as it gave space to ask questions and learn from each other,' Linda indicates.

Instructive and inspiring

The training was not only hugely educational, but also inspiring according to the course participants. Combining new knowledge, practical skills and the beautiful surroundings of the Scottish countryside made it an experience the course participants will not soon forget.

Info & opportunities

Are you curious about the features of the Ovi-Scan 6 or want to know more about sheep scan? Then contact our colleague Hans or Linda. We are happy to share our knowledge and experience. Next year, if there is enough interest, we will organise a course in the Netherlands. Information about this will follow.
