Get to know... Chris!

His education is in forensic science where he fostered his passion for science. Soon after leaving University he joined National Milk Records in the UK where he spent five years working closely with veterinarians and farmers, this is where his love for the industry was born. He then spent over a decade at IDEXX Laboratories, managing one of the largest European accounts. There, he honed his skills in strategic account management and building strong client relationships.

Connecting is the key

Work processes differ across the globe, and there is much we can learn from these differences. “My role is to connect countries and processes. It’s essential to understand how our clients operate so we can develop standards together that help them get the most out of our products,” Chris explains. With his strategic perspective and broad approach, he translates valuable insights into concrete solutions. This not only supports product development but also helps businesses grow and prepare for the future.

Tailored support for growth

Chris is looking forward to supporting both NIFA and our clients. “I enjoy helping customers achieve their goals by providing solutions tailored to their unique needs,” he explains. To do so, he will work on-site, getting to know clients better and collaborating on innovative solutions. “By truly immersing myself in our clients’ businesses, I gain an understanding of their workflows, pain points, and concerns. This enables us to co-create products and services that drive growth and innovation.”

In addition to offering strategic advice, Chris is happy to assist with day-to-day challenges. “That practical support is just as important,” he emphasizes.

Innovation with a long-term vision

Chris looks beyond today’s challenges, concentrating on what businesses will need five years from now. Whether working with genetics organizations or international agricultural projects, Chris will look to co-create solutions that add real value and contribute to sustainable growth.

Inspiring visit IMV Technologies

An inspiring programme

The day started with a warm meeting between our IMV colleagues and the NIFA team, including Hans, Janny, Linda and Corine. This introduction laid the foundation for an open and inspiring exchange of knowledge and experience.

Corine kicked off with an engaging presentation on her expertise in embryo transfer and OPU (Ovum Pick-Up) in horses. Using practical examples, she showed how these techniques work and which products are essential in this process. Linda then took over and shared her extensive knowledge in the field of scanners. She gave a demonstration, showed how product promotion can be used effectively and gave valuable tips on giving demonstrations.

Visit to the CRV Dairy Breeding Centre

After the sessions at NIFA, the group visited the CRV Dairy Breeding Centre in Wirdum (Friesland). Here, our guests got an in-depth insight into OPU techniques in cattle. This visit underlined the importance of high-quality technology and cooperation within the livestock sector.

Just relax?

To further strengthen the team spirit, a skating session was on the programme. It was a great opportunity to get to know each other better in an informal setting and have fun together.

Back at the NIFA Technologies site, IMV colleagues had the opportunity to meet other team members and our extensive product portfolio. This interactive moment offered a valuable look behind the scenes of our daily operations and innovative solutions.

The day ended in stylish fashion with a delicious dinner at the WTC, where we enjoyed breathtaking views of Leeuwarden. It provided the perfect opportunity to look back on a successful day full of inspiration, new insights and strengthened collaborations.

Growing and innovating together

The visit of IMV Technologies' international sales team was a great example of how collaboration and knowledge sharing lead to growth and innovation. At NIFA, we remain committed to strengthening not only our own expertise, but also that of our partners. Because together we are creating the future of reproductive technology.

NEW - Efficient and reliable uterine cultures with CultiPlate Duo

The CultiPlate-Duo culture system consists of a compact two-chambered plate containing Gram-positive and Gram-negative selective chromogenic agars. The agar is formulated to produce uniquely pigmented colonies when inoculated with organisms for which the product has been validated.

Colour-coded identification

The use of chromogenic media allows colonies to take on different colours, facilitating rapid identification of bacteria.

Long shelf life and easy to use

The plates are sold per 10 pieces. They are individually packed, giving a shelf life of up to six months. This makes the system durable and practical. The plates should be shipped and stored refrigerated (4°-10° C).

Interpretation chart for clear results

An interpretation chart supports the reading process and enables quick analysis.

Reliable diagnosis

The Cultiplate Duo allows veterinarians to work efficiently on reliable diagnosis of uterine infections. This system offers a compact, well-thought-out solution for the daily work of microbiology professionals.

You can pre-order the Cultiplate Duo for upcoming mating season. Make use of the "Pre Order" now so that we can deliver your order on time, with the maximum shelf life.

Discover early negative pregnancy with the CFM Doppler

The CFM Doppler visualises blood flow through colour. This doppler combines colour visualisation with the standard ultrasound of blood vessels to display the speed and direction of blood flow.

By using this Doppler, you can...

  • monitor vascularisation of follicles and the corpus luteum;
  • determine non-pregnant diagnosis from 18 days after mating / artificial insemination and
  • determine foetal viability at various gestation stages.

Advantages

  • Early negative gestation diagnosis for optimizing time of starting new cycle.
  • Reduce loss days with economic benefit for the farmer.
  • Optimization of fertility management in cattle.

The CFM Doppler has been designed with the bovine uterus in mind. Blood in the uterus does not circulate as fast as in other parts of the body and requires different imaging techniques, settings and scanner capabilities for accuracy. This Doppler is available in as a Lifetime Licence and is an add-on feature exclusively for the Easi-Scan:Go in combination with a Wireless colour BUG or via the IMV Go Scan App.

TRAINING - Faculty of Veterinary Medicine Utrecht

Three days in a row, a group of students went out with Maarten to practice on dairy farms the fertility guidance in cattle. These were organized by student association the "Veefokkers". They organize courses "echo in cattle" to learn all techniques. Maarten Pieterse is extremely adept and teaches them the tricks of the trade. Sharing knowledge remains very important!

Due to the support of NIFA, students are able to work with the Easi-Scan GO. The best equipment currently available for this application.
